The Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) offers additional medical coverage to complement provincial health insurance. It covers various services and supplies, some of which may also be partially covered by provincial insurance. While most services require medical necessity, doctor's referrals are not always needed. Non-emergency services received outside of Canada are covered if the provider is qualified, and medical supplies purchased abroad are also covered, with some exceptions.
